Amanpulo – The Most Beautiful Beach in the Philippines
Perfect Amanpulo – “Luxurious privacy”
This is touted to be the most expensive beach hideaway in the Philippines, but for those who want to have a perfect
beach experience and is willing to shell out USD 500 to 2,500 per night per casita, this is it.
Only the bluest sea, against the ivory white powdery sand against the backdrop of lush tropics- all yours if you have enough dough.
Location
Amanpulo is located on its own private island: Pamalican is one of the Quiniluban group, which makes up the northern half of the Cuyo Islands. The southern half is called the Cuyo group. The largest province in the Philippines, Palawan is about 340 kilometres south of Manila.
It has 40 casitas, with a measurement of about 65-square-metre bungalows in hillside and beachside settings. These are modelled after the Philippines’ vahay kubo (native hut). The interior of the casita has decorative details reflecting the islands: pebble-washed walls; coconut-shell and seashell tables; rustic Palawan rice and knife baskets; a king-size bed with a rattan headboard; sliding glass doors that reveal outdoor decks and his-and-her divans. Almost half of the total space in a casita is occupied by Cebu marble bathroom, with twin vanities, separate changing areas, a shower and an elegant bathtub lit by twin wood windows. The amazing thing is that each of the 29 beach casitas come with a private path that leads through a tangle of bush directly onto a white sandy beach! What’s more, there are four treetop casitas rising above the island in the palm trees. Guests get around on open-sided, gasoline-powered carts, one to each casita. Amanpulo also has its own private holiday villa for rent. Casa Kalikasan is a luxurious, four-bedroom residence located just a few metres from the sea.
Dining
The restaurant, is located in a wing at one end of the clubhouse, and it extends onto a terrace with views to Manmoc Island across the channel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. In the resptaurant. The menu consist of Asian and Continental cuisine, with fresh seafood a specialty. Lunch is also offered at the Beach Club. Barbecues at the beach can be arranged. Private dining is also available day and night. Only the freshest ingredients are used.
Activities
Of course, the most important activity is swimming. Nude swimming is actually acceptable because the casitas are far from each other, and you have your own path. Privacy is also ensured, so no paparazzis can disturb the peace and quiet!
If you plan to stay long, sample these activities: tennis, star-gazing, nature treks, fish feeding, picnics, mountain biking, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, snorkelling, kayaking, scuba diving.
Best time to travel
Anytime is best time! However, if you want to avoid the rain, June to August should be avoided.
Can be visited all year round. The weather is most pleasant during the cooler, drier months from December to February. The summer months are perhaps the best months. You can get your tan
naturally.
Getting there
Make your reservations online. From Manila, guests are received at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport by an airport representative and escorted to Amanpulo’s private lounge. From Manila, the flight is direct to Pamalican Island and Amanpulo’s private airstrip.
